High‑Precision Flowmeter Calibration System Put into Operation, Equipped with Krohne Reference Meters to Consolidate Metrological Inspection Foundation

Recently, our automated flowmeter calibration system has been successfully re-commissioned and put into service. It can provide accurate verification and calibration services for various industrial flowmeters, further improving the capacity of flow metrological inspection and delivering solid technical support for reliable metering data in industrial production.

The calibration system consists of two major parts: an on‑site process pipeline system and a data acquisition & control system in the control room. The on‑site process unit adopts a multi‑line parallel calibration process, equipped with pneumatic actuators as well as pressure and temperature acquisition modules. It enables fast mounting of flowmeters of different sizes and stable medium delivery, and supports calibration tests for various types of test flowmeters. Fabricated of stainless steel, the pipeline units feature good corrosion resistance and reliable operation.

Krohne reference flowmeters are adopted as the core metrological standard of the system. Leveraging Krohne’s proven flow‑measurement technology, the system ensures accurate and stable reference flow output. The automated control room is equipped with cabinets and industrial hosts running dedicated HMI configuration software. It collects real‑time full‑range process parameters including flow, pressure and temperature, and automatically completes data logging, calculation and result generation. Free from manual reading, human‑induced errors are reduced. The whole calibration process is visual with traceable test data. Built‑in printers directly output verification records and reports, greatly boosting calibration efficiency.

Featuring automatic workflow, the system meets calibration requirements for flow instruments used in petroleum, chemical, water‑treatment and other industries. The commissioning of this system effectively addresses measurement deviation of field‑operated flowmeters. It helps enterprises guarantee metering accuracy in production and mitigate losses caused by inaccurate metering, and is of practical significance for production safety and standardized industrial metrology.

Going forward, the project will give full play to the technical strengths of this calibration facility, continuously optimize inspection procedures, and provide professional flowmeter calibration services for the industry, contributing to the improvement of flow‑metrology performance in industrial sectors.
